The Reynolda Film Festival is intended as a celebration of film and filmmaking. It serves to inspire our community, and challenge the way that film education and the filmmaking process are viewed throughout North Carolina. We also hope it will serve as a resource for students considering a career in film. This year’s film festival will take place on April 22nd, at 12:30PM in Broyhill Auditorium located in the lower lobby of the School of Business.
In celebration of our 10th annual Reynolda Film Festival, Rob Bruce, extreme sports documentary film maker, will screen his documentary Distance Between Dreams, and will give a keynote speech detailing his film career and offer industry advice to students. Then, the top 5 film submissions will be screened, and Rob Bruce will declare the first, second, and third place winners.
Submissions will be accepted from students at Wake Forest University and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Submissions must be short films of 20 minutes or less.
Submissions will be reviewed as they are received by successive panels of judges comprising film students and faculty who will look for films that demonstrate professional quality and artistic ability. Entries will be narrowed down to a small number of exceptional films. Rob Bruce will then choose the top three films and the overall winner.
The first-place winner will be flown to Red Bull’s film studio in Los Angeles, receive a private tour of the studios, attend a red-carpet premier of Red Bull’s Blood Road, and have the opportunity to create a recap film for the premier that may be used in the future by Red Bull’s Feature Films team.
